Right here in San Francisco at the beautiful Varnish Fine Art gallery is Life Aquatic, a group show of paintings about water and the sea. I made two collaborations with my dad (Thomas Rude) for this show, plus a couple of new paintings. I will be at the opening on Saturday November 11, 7-11pm, come on by and say hello. Coming to Local 35 in Portland, OR is Time Bomb: a group exhibit of fully functional, one of a kind clocks created and concieved by artists from around the country. A wide range of disciplines will be represented including painting, photography, print making, silkscreen, collage and illustration. The show opens on Thursday, November 9th from 7 - 9pm. Issue #3 of Wooden Toy Mag is now out! My first interview in a skateboard publication. When I was twelve, I always imagined being featured in a skate mag(of course I was hoping it was for skateboarding)and now it's come true.
Went to the Mescalito opening at White Walls Gallery. Great work as always by Mars 1, Oliver Vernon and Damon Soule. Check it out.

Bernal Tshirts designed by yours truly will be available this weekend, Sunday, October 15th at the Bernal Heights Fiesta. It's the annual free street fair with food, bands, petting zoo for kids, local crafts, no beer on the street but all the local friendly bars are open if you please. It's a smalltown flavored fiesta in old Bernaltown. Cortland Avenue is closed for the day, but you can take the 24 bus up the hill from Mission or from Bayshore and it will detour around near the fiesta. Here is the design , available at heartfelt

Opening this Saturday night, October 7th, is "We're All Mad Here!," the new exhibit at Gallery 1988 featuring both paintings and customized vinyl toys depicting Alice in Wonderland's feline, the Cheshire Cat! The opening reception will be 7-10 PM and the show will run until October 14th. Artwork from Amanda Visell, Tokidoki, Isaac Pierro, UPSO, Bwana Spoons, Martin Ontiveros, Attaboy, Annie Owens and many, many more..plus me! Believe it or not, there are over 100 customized vinyl Cheshire Cats in this project! Not to mention a 10 foot Wonderland tree to walk through and walls made of plush FUR. Breaking news from down under! Straight out of Richmond, VIC, Australia, comes the very cool skate/design mag Wooden Toy, from the Melbourne design studio, FAD Experiment. The latest issue, which should be hitting shelves any minute, has the theme "Vintage" and contains a feature on yours truly, complete with images and a short interview. I was also graciously invited to participate in an art show at the opening party, which featured the legendary Jim Phillips, among others. I'm not sure how peeps from the northern hemisphere can get ahold of this publication, but check out Wooden Toy for more info(click on the show flyer, and be patient, the site takes a second to load).

The long awaited father and son show comes to Portland, Oregon, thanks to the talented and sweet Bwana Spoons who hooked me up at Moshi Moshi. This isn't exactly breaking news, but Toyroom Gallery in Sacramento had a show called "Exquisite Corpse" featuring figurative collaborations. Two of my favorite artists, Bill Zindel and Jose Arenas agreed to makes a painting for the show with me, and it turned out... well... check it out here.
